Interactive Metronome

Training in the area of timing, rhythm and movement to improve mental processing speed, control impulsivity, enhance brain synchrony and neuroplasticity.  This is a computer based program of movement by clapping and tapping to a rhythmic sequence over many repetitions.  Sessions are three times per week.

Interactive Metronome (IM) is a brain-based rehabilitation assessment and training program that utilizes a metronome to provide real time millisecond audio and/or visual feedback to improve cognitive and motor functioning. It has been proven, through evidence based research, to directly improve the processing abilities that affect attention, motor planning, and sequencing. This, in turn strengthens motor skills, including mobility and gross motor function, and many fundamental cognitive capacities such as planning, organizing, and language. IM can significantly increase your ability to process information leading directly to improvements with:

1. Motor Control and Coordination
2. Attention and Concentration
3. Processing Speed
4. Language Processing
5. Reading
6. Decrease in Impulsive Behavior
7. Balance and Gait
8. Strength and Endurance
9. Academic Performance
10. Motor Skills for Independent Living
11. Fine/Gross Motor Skills
